About Conceptions Southwest
Conceptions Southwest is the prime literature and arts publication created for and by the University of New Mexico community. Its staff is made up entirely of student volunteers, directed by an editor-in-chief who is selected by UNM's Student Publications Board.
The magazine has evolved over the years since its inception in 1978 into the annual publication that it is today, providing a venue for literature and arts students to promote their work and to become a part of the artistic community that is so important to UNM's legacy.
We currently accept creative work from all UNM undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education students; faculty; staff; and alumni. Our categories include: Short Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Poetry, Short Film, Music and Composition, Theatrical Writing, Visual Art, and Photography.
